2024-25 Winter Weather Outlook

Last winter, a strong El Niño brought below-average snowfall and above-average temperatures to the continental United States – about 5.4°F above average.

This winter is shaping up to look rather different. Instead of an El Niño, we have a La Niña setting up. Other factors could periodically draw the polar vortex further south into the Upper Midwest and Plains.

What does that mean for different regions across the continent?

Here are just a few of the questions that our meteorological team will be answering during the webinar:

  • Which areas are likely to see an increase in wintertime severe weather and how much snowfall or precipitation can the area expect?

  • How warm or cold will it likely be in your region of the country?

  • How will the season likely impact drought conditions?
